hi, my name is jenny. we saw this awesome graffiti just down the street from our apt. and decided to snap some pix. how nice that you think we are a “shame”. i am 33 years old, a former goth, a former punk, a former outcast, misfit, rebel, whatever. yes, i was always a “shame” to my family growing up in a small town dressed like robert smith whenever i had the chance. i was a shame to them when i refused to eat meat or join a sports team or basically just “fit in”. you are making a grand assumption about me not unlike the people from the small town i escaped based on my (and my fiance’s) appearance. how narrow minded, small, bitter and judgemental of you.
it’s actually laughable to me to be called a “hipster”…i know nothing about new music and the “scene”…and i do know that the term “hipster” is usually reserved for these folk. i guess in your eyes being a hipster is a shame. before you judge try opening your mind. be kind to people.
that’s what the graffiti is really all about anyway…be kind to yourself, and in turn you will be kind to others.
we were/are two people appreciating that someone else appreciated RA’s music and lyrics and you turned it around and made it a negative. i hope you think about this sincerely before you scan my blog and look for flaws and weak spots to criticize and slam. no one is perfect, but to call people a “shame” based on a photo is the true shame.
kind regards, jenniferby the way, i played a show w/ whiskeytown and perfect back in the 90s at coney island high. i’ve been a replacements fan for a long time and it was a true pleasure. liked whiskeytown a lot as well when i saw them that night, but it wasn’t until years later that i realized, hey- ryan adams was in that band.
I will always love you, so go easy on yourself.
awesome graffiti, shame about the hipsters.
